DESCRIPTION:The BSCC – British Swiss Chamber of Commerce – is inviting the CWF members and their guests to share a special luncheon\, featuring DORIS LEUTHARD\, former President of the Swiss Confederation 2010 and 2017 – Swiss Federal Councillor\, 2006-2018.\nOne of the most respected and popular Swiss Federal Councillors\, and twice President of the Swiss Confederation – in 2010 and again in 2017 – Doris Leuthard honours us with her presence. \nComing from the Christian Democratic People’s Party (CVP/PDC)\, she was first elected to the Swiss Federal Council in 2006 and stepped down in 2018. \nShe was the fifth woman elected to the Federal Council. \nIn high office\, she headed the Federal Department of Economic Affairs and then went on to become head of the Federal Department of Environment\, Transport\, Energy and Communications. \nIn her capacity as minister\, she was appointed by United Nations Secretary General António Guterras in 2018 to the High-level Panel on Digital Cooperation\, co-chaired by Melinda Gates and Jack Ma. \nNowadays\, she is a member of various boards\, including the Kofi Annan Foundation and Stadler Rail. \nDoris Leuthard has without question left an indelible mark on the Swiss political scene.  The Geneva Chapter is delighted to welcome her and be joined by members and guests of the Career Women’s Forum. \nCome and listen to her ! DESCRIPTION:Modernising tradition: A journey of technological and cultural change \nLloyds of London: this great\, British and global institution has its roots in marine insurance and was founded by one Edward Lloyd in London’s Tower Street in about 1686. \nFast forward to today and there are about 85 syndicates managed by some 56 managing agencies that collectively write over £30 billion of gross premiums on risks placed by 287 approved brokers. Half the premiums come out of North America and about 30 per cent from Europe. \nHowever\, history and numbers are only part of the story. Dame Inga Beale\, Lloyds first woman CEO in the insurance market’s 328 year history\, will tell us her personal story of changes – cultural and technological – which were necessary to bring this great institution into the truly modern age. \nDame Inga’s illustrious career includes such prominent names as the Prudential\, General Electric (insurance division)\, Converium\, where she led its successful turnaround\, and the Zurich Insurance Group. She has been a Councillor of the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce. \nIn 2017\, she was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) for services to the economy. \nThis event is organised by the BSCC\, British Swiss Chamber of Commerce. \nOnly members can register through this website. DESCRIPTION:La conférence organisée avec le Réseau Entreprendre présentera deux entrepreneures qui se sont récemment lancées dans la création de leur propre société et qui ont bénéficié du soutien de ce réseau. \nDr Véronique Basch\, Directrice générale de Steriswiss\, une société de stérilisation d’instruments médicaux réutilisables en 24h pour les médecins\, dentistes et cliniques. \nAprès des études de pharmacie à Strasbourg\, Dr Véronique Basch passe deux ans en Californie chez un fabricant de pompes à insuline\, puis rejoint l’Hôpital universitaire de Zürich\, pour une mission de recherche scientifique. En 2000\, elle rejoint l’industrie pharmaceutique : chez Novartis à Zürich puis à Bâle\, puis enfin chez UBC\, un prestataire de service pour l’industrie pharmaceutique à Genève. Véronique Basch est spécialisée dans la pharmacovigilance et occupe des postes à responsabilités croissantes jusqu’en 2015\, année où à la tête du bureau de Genève et de la « business unit » globale chez UBC\, elle décide de quitter le monde « corporate » pour se lancer dans une aventure plus entrepreneuriale et plus humaine. Elle décide de reprendre une société locale et prend les rênes de Steriswiss en décembre 2015. Steriswiss est une société de service située à Genève qui stérilise les instruments médicaux réutilisables pour les médecins\, dentistes\, et cliniques\, en 24h. Véronique Basch est lauréate du Réseau Entreprendre Suisse Romande depuis 2016. \nWendy Vanhonacker\, Fondatrice et Directrice de Fit ’n’ Tasty\, qui propose une option saine et naturelle sous forme de dose quotidienne de jus de fruits et légumes en Suisse \nWendy Vanhonacker obtient son Master en Systèmes de Communication de l’EPFL en 2004. Elle commence sa carrière en tant que consultante IT pour des groupes de consulting internationaux et approfondit ses connaissances principalement dans les ventes en ligne (pour des projets tels que Orange en Suisse\, Victoria’s Secret aux Etats-Unis et Wonderbox en France). Avec une nouvelle aventure en tête\, Wendy obtient un MBA de l’INSEAD en 2013\, et concentre toute son énergie pour créer sa première startup: Fit ’n’ Tasty. Wendy est aussi mère de deux enfants\, 2 beaux garçons pour une équation parfaite. \nDepuis 2014\, Fit ’n’ Tasty propose une option saine et naturelle sous forme de dose quotidienne de jus de fruits et légumes en Suisse.
