SUMMARY:Navigating Commodities: Challenges and Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:Commodities are everywhere — in the energy that fuels our homes\, the food that sustains us\, and the materials that shape our daily lives. Yet\, for many of us\, this vast and complex world remains hidden behind the scenes. At our next CWF Lunch\, we invite you to step inside it with Mathilde de Mareuil\, a seasoned leader who has built her career at the crossroads of markets\, geopolitics\, and change. \nMathilde will demystify what commodities really are and the powerful forces that drive them — from weather patterns and global politics to economic cycles. She will then share why this field has fascinated her from the very start: an arena of constant movement\, endless learning\, and global impact. Her story will also trace the path that brought her here\, highlighting both the opportunities and the challenges she encountered along the way. \nIn a domain often seen as closed\, especially to women\, Mathilde will reflect on how she navigated her career\, the hurdles still facing the industry\, and the ways women can carve out space and leadership in this demanding environment. Looking forward\, she will shed light on the opportunities that lie ahead in commodities — opportunities not just for finance professionals but for all those who want to understand the forces shaping our world. \nJoin us for this inspiring lunch to gain new insights\, fresh perspectives\, and the chance to connect across industries around a topic that touches us all. \nMathilde de Mareuil is the Founder and CEO of Shipping and Trading Network (STN) and CommodityThursdays. \nBased in Geneva\, she connects top talent with leading firms across commodities trading\, shipping\, legal\, and finance. STN offers headhunting\, introductions of companies to investors\, market insights\, and networking — including monthly CommodityThursdays events in Geneva\, Zug\, London\, Dubai\, Singapore and more. \nMathilde is also Vice President of WISTA Switzerland and has lived and worked in Hong Kong\, Singapore\, Paris\, London\, and Geneva and thrives in internatioanal environments. \nWISTA members are invited to participate at member pricing.

SUMMARY:L’innovation dans l’administration publique

SUMMARY:Inspiring women to talk about money
DESCRIPTION:This event is fully booked. If you wish to be on the waiting list\, please send a message to administration@cwf.ch.\nDid you know only 1 in 10 Swiss women actively manage their finances\, compared to 1 in 5 men? This disparity contributes to significant challenges\, including a 26% pension income gap and fewer women-led businesses receiving funding. But what if this could change? \nJoin Nannette Hechler-Fayd’herbe\, a seasoned banking leader with over 20 years of experience\, as she shares her expertise on empowering women to take control of their finances. She will explore: \n\nThe key obstacles women face in investing: income\, risk tolerance\, and confidence.\nPractical ways to make investing accessible: creating safe spaces for financial conversations and fostering pragmatic\, jargon-free learning.\nHow to get started depending on age and investment objectives in today’s context of fast falling interest rates in Switzerland.\n\nThis talk will inspire you to rethink financial empowerment and equip women with tools to turn challenges into opportunities. Don’t miss this chance to be part of the conversation shaping the future of women and money. \n_____________________________ \nDr. Nannette Hechler-Fayd’herbe is the Chief Investment Officer for EMEA and Head of Investment Strategy\, Sustainability\, and Research at Lombard Odier\, one of our CWF Corporate Sponsors. She is a voting member of the bank’s investment committee and has recently launched (and is editor of) ‘LO Women Invest\,’ a dedicated investment publication aimed at addressing women investors with their top-of-mind concerns and questions. \nNannette is an investment and research expert\, passionate about economic policy\, financial markets\, the management and preservation of wealth\, as well as gender gaps in investing. She believes in simple and straightforward investment communication as a means to engage people with their finances. Nannette holds a PhD from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland and is a graduate of the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris\, France. Prior to Lombard Odier\, Nannette spent over 20 years at Credit Suisse as Chief Investment Officer of International Wealth Management and Global Head of Economics and Research. \nThis lunch is also open to women members of the American International Club and the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce at member rates\, highlighting the collaborative spirit among these Geneva-based associations. \n
