SUMMARY:How to tackle the many difficulties entrepreneurs face today?
DESCRIPTION:Dorothy Tembo\, Deputy Executive Director\, International Trade Centre \nDorothy Tembo will talk about ITC’s mandate to reinforce the private sector in developing countries\, focusing on women and supporting them to develop further and help tackle difficulties through a new application that facilitates networking and visibility amongst women leaders. Indeed\, women’s contribution to the economy is undeveloped everywhere. One of ITC’s goals is to improve that through trade and export. \nDorothy Tembo will tell us about her career path\, negotiating with politicians\, ambassadors and other public figures. How did she get to where she is today? What kind of obstacles did she face and how did she overcome them? \nDorothy Tembo is the Deputy Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC). With over 30 years’ experience in trade and development\, Ms. Tembo previously served as the Executive Director of the multi-donor funded Enhanced Integrated Framework Programme (EIF)\, based at the World Trade Organization. EIF aims at supporting  least developed countries in addressing their trade-related technical assistance and supply side constraints. Ms. Tembo also served as Chief Trade Negotiator and Director of Foreign Trade in the Ministry of Commerce\, Trade and Industry of Zambia from 2004 to 2008\, and as Trade and Investment Advisor on the USAID Zambia Trade and Investment Enhancement Project (ZAMTIE) in Lusaka in 2003 to 2004\, providing support to the Ministry of Commerce\, Trade and Industry and the private sector.

Comment concilier une carrière professionnelle dans l’IT et la participation à de nombreux rallyes automobiles à travers le monde ? Comment se forger un mental d’acier ? Comment gérer le stress de la compétition ? \nPassion\, persévérance\, performance : voici les 3 P qui ont permis à Eugénie Decré de se faire une place dans le domaine très masculin du rallye automobile\, alors qu’enfant\, elle en rêvait en regardant les Grands Prix et les Rallyes à la télévision. \nEugénie nous racontera comment elle a réussi à transformer ce rêve en réalité : la nécessité de disposer d’un modèle\, Michèle Mouton\, l’une des premières femmes à remporter des rallyes en Europe\, les stéréotypes de genre à dépasser\, les refus des équipes masculines de l’intégrer\, les difficultés de concilier sa passion automobile avec les impératifs professionnels\, etc. Mais\, Eugénie nous présentera surtout les stratégies gagnantes qu’elle a imaginées pour contrer les obstacles rencontrés. \nEn juillet\, Eugénie a participé à la Route de la Soie (http://www.silkwayrally.com)\, un parcours de 15 jours débutant sur la place Rouge de Moscou\, traversant une partie de la Russie et du Kazakhstan pour terminer avec un des plus beaux déserts de Chine. La tête encore emplie de souvenirs\, Eugénie revivra avec nous les grandes étapes de cette épreuve emblématique. \nPortrait d’Eugénie Decré \nUn soir de 1983\, la lumière de phares défilant à toute vitesse et le son rugissant de moteurs font vibrer Eugénie\, qui depuis ce moment-là sait qu’elle a trouvé sa voie : conduire le plus tôt possible! \nPendant longtemps elle pilote pour le plaisir en slalom\, en course de côte\, en circuit et en rallye. Eugénie devient copilote en championnat de France\, gagne la 3e place au Trophée Michelin et la 14ème des copilotes en 2005. D’autres victoires de rallye en coupe de France suivent\, ainsi qu’au rallye de Suède\, de Norvège\, etc\, pour arriver plus récemment au rallye de Dakar et celui de la Route de la Soie ! \nLes rallyes c’est aussi une équipe\, la préparation mentale\, une volonté de fer\, l’engagement et la confiance. Forces qu’Eugénie possède et utilise aussi dans sa profession d’informaticienne administratrice de systèmes Unix\, constamment à la recherche de solutions d’optimisation de performances et d’amélioration de processus. \nEugénie partage encore ses forces et son savoir-faire chez CAP-MAP (Coaching Aventure Performance – Mental Action Pilotage) en coachant ceux intéressés à se perfectionner dans le sport et dans la vie !

DESCRIPTION:Venez débattre des nouvelles avancées en matière d’égalité des sexes en Suisse avec une conférencière d’exception\, Sylvie Durrer\, directrice du Bureau fédéral de l’égalité\, lors du lunch du 25 septembre. \nDeux décennies après la votation sur l’égalité entre femmes et hommes\, il est temps de faire le point sur l’égalité en Suisse. Comment devenir partir prenante du changement ? Madame Durrer partagera avec nous les moyens d’actions. \nQuelles sont les nouvelles avancées à propos de l’égalité des sexes en Suisse ? Et comment pouvons-nous y contribuer en tant qu’individu et organisation ? \nEn Suisse\, le principe d’égalité entre les sexes a été accepté par le peuple en 1981 et la loi fédérale sur l’égalité entre hommes et femmes a été votée en 1995. \nDeux décennies plus tard\, qu’en est-il ? Alors que l’égalité salariale fait bientôt l’objet d’une nouvelle loi\, cette question reste taboue dans les entreprises. \nSylvie Durrer évoquera les possibilités d’agir en faveur de l’égalité en tant qu’individu\, employeur\, ou organisation. Des moyens d’action existent\, mais souvent nous ne les connaissons pas. \nVous trouvez que les choses n’avancent pas assez vite en faveur de l’égalité ? Vous avez envie de devenir partie prenante ? Participer à ce lunch est déjà un premier pas ! \nNotre conférencière \nSylvie Durrer est directrice du Bureau fédéral de l’égalité entre femmes et hommes depuis 2011. Elle occupait précédemment une position similaire au sein du canton de Vaud et peut se prévaloir d’une vaste connaissance des questions de genre et des politiques publiques de l’égalité. \nSylvie Durrer a dirigé diverses commissions de niveaux cantonal\, intercantonal et national traitant en particulier des questions d’égalité salariale et de violence domestique. Elle est actuellement vice-présidente de la Conférence suisse des délégué-e-s à l’égalité. Elle vient aussi d’être élue par le Conseil économique et social en tant que membre du conseil d’administration de l’Institut de recherche des Nations Unies pour le développement social (UNRISD) pour la période 2017-2021. Elle participe régulièrement aux travaux de la Commission de la condition de la femme des Nations Unies\, en tant que cheffe de délégation\, ainsi qu’à ceux de la Commission pour l’égalité de genre du Conseil de l’Europe. \nLors de la première partie de sa carrière\, Sylvie Durrer a enseigné et a effectué des recherches en linguistique française au sein des universités de Lausanne et de Zurich\, s’élevant au poste de professeure assistante. En tant qu’universitaire\, elle a été co-directrice de l’Ecole doctorale lémanique en Etudes genre de 2001 à 2004.

DESCRIPTION:La conférence organisée avec le Réseau Entreprendre présentera deux entrepreneures qui se sont récemment lancées dans la création de leur propre société et qui ont bénéficié du soutien de ce réseau. \nDr Véronique Basch\, Directrice générale de Steriswiss\, une société de stérilisation d’instruments médicaux réutilisables en 24h pour les médecins\, dentistes et cliniques. \nAprès des études de pharmacie à Strasbourg\, Dr Véronique Basch passe deux ans en Californie chez un fabricant de pompes à insuline\, puis rejoint l’Hôpital universitaire de Zürich\, pour une mission de recherche scientifique. En 2000\, elle rejoint l’industrie pharmaceutique : chez Novartis à Zürich puis à Bâle\, puis enfin chez UBC\, un prestataire de service pour l’industrie pharmaceutique à Genève. Véronique Basch est spécialisée dans la pharmacovigilance et occupe des postes à responsabilités croissantes jusqu’en 2015\, année où à la tête du bureau de Genève et de la « business unit » globale chez UBC\, elle décide de quitter le monde « corporate » pour se lancer dans une aventure plus entrepreneuriale et plus humaine. Elle décide de reprendre une société locale et prend les rênes de Steriswiss en décembre 2015. Steriswiss est une société de service située à Genève qui stérilise les instruments médicaux réutilisables pour les médecins\, dentistes\, et cliniques\, en 24h. Véronique Basch est lauréate du Réseau Entreprendre Suisse Romande depuis 2016. \nWendy Vanhonacker\, Fondatrice et Directrice de Fit ’n’ Tasty\, qui propose une option saine et naturelle sous forme de dose quotidienne de jus de fruits et légumes en Suisse \nWendy Vanhonacker obtient son Master en Systèmes de Communication de l’EPFL en 2004. Elle commence sa carrière en tant que consultante IT pour des groupes de consulting internationaux et approfondit ses connaissances principalement dans les ventes en ligne (pour des projets tels que Orange en Suisse\, Victoria’s Secret aux Etats-Unis et Wonderbox en France). Avec une nouvelle aventure en tête\, Wendy obtient un MBA de l’INSEAD en 2013\, et concentre toute son énergie pour créer sa première startup: Fit ’n’ Tasty. Wendy est aussi mère de deux enfants\, 2 beaux garçons pour une équation parfaite. \nDepuis 2014\, Fit ’n’ Tasty propose une option saine et naturelle sous forme de dose quotidienne de jus de fruits et légumes en Suisse. Ce dicton résume parfaitement le parcours brillant et insolite de Barbara Broers. \nParticipez à cette conférence déjeuner avec Barbara Broers\, laissez-vous inspirer par une carrière EXTRAordinaire – au sens propre et figuré – et découvrez comment elle est devenue Professeure en Médecine en passant par des chemins de traverse. Pour cette sportive passionnée\, il n’y avait pas de parcours parfait\, mais son libre choix qu’elle a laissé à ses envies et opportunités sans se préoccuper d’un plan de carrière linéaire. \nBarbara Broers est la preuve qu’on peut réussir une brillante carrière sans avoir tout planifié de A à Z. Outre son parcours inspirant et ingénieux\, elle parlera des différences de genre dans le monde de la santé et des addictions. Hommes et femmes sont-ils égaux face aux traitements\, à la prise en charge lors des urgences\, dans les études épidémiologiques\, etc. ? Elle nous démontrera que cela n’est clairement pas le cas. Elle nous donnera aussi des conseils sur la manière de nous adresser à notre médecin pour obtenir les traitements adéquats. \nQui est Barabara Broers \nEnfant\, elle se rêvait professeure de gym\, mais\, dans le doute sur ce choix\, elle a commencé ses études de médecine aux Pays-Bas car selon elle\, cette formation pouvait mener à tout. N’étant pas réellement convainque de son choix\, elle a pris une pause sabbatique pour s’inspirer d’autres mondes et travailler (Inde\, Ecosse). Après avoir obtenu son doctorat de médecine à l’Université d’Amsterdam\, elle travaille une année au Népal pour former des sages-femmes traditionnelles et des médecins pied-nu.  Après avoir travaillé ensuite comme interne aux Pays-Bas et en France\, elle est nommée en 1990 aux HUG pour travailler dans le domaine du VIH/SIDA et des addictions. Entre 1994 et 1996\, elle complète sa formation par un master en épidémiologie et biostatistiques à l’Université McGill (Canada). De retour aux HUG\, elle retourne au Service de médecine de premier recours et y prend en 2010 la responsabilité de l’Unité dépendances. Après avoir été enseignante « genre et santé » au diplôme Genre de l’Université de Genève\, elle est devenue également conseillère aux études pour les étudiants master à la faculté de Médecine en 2013. Elle enseigne la médecine de l’addiction en formation pré- et postgrade\, ses recherches portent sur les aspects cliniques et de santé publique des addictions. Elle est vice-présidente de la Commission fédérale pour des questions liées aux drogues\, et de la Société Suisse de Médecine de l’Addiction.

DESCRIPTION:Comment lire et interpréter des états financier\, par Virginie FAUVEAU\, Directrice Corporate Finance BCGE \nInterpréter les états financiers est une capacité indispensable pour les cadres souhaitant exercer une fonction dans un Conseil d’Administration afin de comprendre les comptes annuels établis par la société\, ses concurrents\, ses clients ou ses partenaires.  \nPré-requis : Il n’est pas nécessaire d’exercer dans la Finance mais il est souhaitable d’avoir déjà lu des états financiers et de connaître les termes utilisés dans la finance d’entreprise. \nVirginie Fauveau partagera son expertise de Directrice Corporate Finance à l’aide de plusieurs cas d’étude. Elle montrera notamment comment identifier dans les états financiers le montant du cash flow\, les besoins en fonds de roulement\, un surendettement potentiel et comment en tirer une première analyse sur la rentabilité. \nVirginie Fauveau a rejoint le département Corporate Finance de la BCGE en 2008\, avant d’en prendre la responsabilité en 2010. Elle est notamment responsable de Capital Transmission\, filiale de la Banque\, active dans le private equity. \nAprès un master en ingénierie financière à Paris\, elle commence son activité professionnelle dans une banque d’affaires parisienne. \nAu bénéfice d’une expérience professionnelle de plus de 20 ans principalement auprès d’entreprises familiales\, dans plusieurs institutions bancaires en France et en Suisse\, elle a développé une expertise de conseil dans la gouvernance et la transmission d’entreprises\, ainsi que dans le financement en fonds propres.
