SUMMARY:International Women's Day with Dr Kamila  Markram
DESCRIPTION:This event is organised by the American International Club. CWF members can register at members’ price. \nPlease register directly on their website. \nWe urgently need new solutions for clean energy\, sustainable development and healthy living. \nIn an industry where women are severely underrepresented\, Kamila is leading a scientific community of more than 500\,000 of the world’s top academics to solve these critical challenges. She will outline the role of the academic publisher in the innovation cycle and how open science\, together with artificial intelligence\, can result in exponential innovation – and solve any challenge the human race may face. \nKamila Markram – CEO\, Frontiers \nKamila is the co-founder and CEO of Frontiers\, and a neuroscientist and autism researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) Lausanne. Frontiers is one of the largest and most impactful Open Science platforms in the world\, on a mission to make science open for the benefit of humanity. Radically improving how science is reviewed\, published\, evaluated and disseminated to both researchers and the general public\, Frontiers received the 2014 ALPSP Gold Award for Innovation in Publishing. In 2016 Kamila was named a L’HEBDO Forum 100 personality\, a Stevie Gold Award Winner for Women in Business\, and a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. In 2017\, Kamila was a finalist for the EU Prize for Women Innovators. \n
