Thanks to the success of the first edition of their Forum “Women’s Added Value to the Economy (WAVE) in January 2009, the CWF has decided to organize a second edition of WAVE on Monday January 25th 2010. The Forum will take place at the Hotel Métropole in Geneva between 16:00 and 19:30, and will be followed by a networking cocktail. The theme of this second edition will be the representation of women in higher management roles. Discussions will take place as to whether it is necessary to take measures for encouragement/incentive, and who could play such a role.

In today’s world one of the most important questions being addressed is whether it is necessary to force the gender issue by imposing quotas to guarantee that women have fair representation in decision-making issues of companies and corporations. In France the possibility of imposing a 40% quota of women on companies’ Boards of Directors is currently under discussion, following the success of the Norwegian model. Can the method of imposed quotas be applied in Switzerland?

The 2nd WAVE Forum will be moderated by Professor Paul Strebel, IMD in Lausanne, and bring together renowned speakers who will discuss their differing views. The Forum will include an interactive Q&A session.
