CWF Internal Mentoring
The CWF internal mentoring program is based on a strong commitment to helping women to develop their full potential. The program facilitates member-to-member mentoring to provide an exchange between women with varied levels of experience and to enhance personal and professional development. Participation is open to all members and is on a voluntary basis. What is Mentoring? One definition: "A deliberate pairing of a more experienced person with a lesser skilled or experienced one, with the agreed-upon goal of having the lesser skilled person grow and develop specific competencies." (Murray & Owen, 'Beyond the Myths and Magic of Mentoring', 1991). At CWF we have found that the objectives of a mentee vary widely including such topics as obtaining a work/life balance, improving interpersonal communications, beginning an independent activity, gaining recognition at work, to moving forward or changing their careers.
The CWF believes that mentoring is a truly mutually beneficial relationship in which both the mentor and the mentee develop as a result of an open-minded, supportive, and confidential environment.
